Principle of Online Fiber Optic Circulator

An optical circulator is a passive, non-reciprocal, multi-port device typically designed with three or four terminals. It ensures that light entering any port is transferred sequentially to the next adjacent port in a specific, predetermined direction. Typically, a circulator has three or four optical ports (inputs / outputs). Thorlabs' Optical Circulators are non-reciprocating, one-directional, three port devices which are great for bidirectional propagation of light in a single fiber.
