Modern patch panels support high-density configurations and MPO/MTP trunks for multi-fiber connections . 3. Splice Trays ODFs include splice trays to manage fiber splices, maintaining proper bend radius and protecting delicate fusion or mechanical splices. These trays ensure signal integrity and prevent fiber stress . 4. Cable Management Accessories Rings, guides, and holders are integrated to route fibers neatly, manage slack, and prevent bending beyond recommended radii. Termination and Cross-Connect Functions The ODF terminates outside plant (OSP) cables and provides a hub for cross-connecting to internal distribution cables or patch panels. It supports both single-mode and multi-mode fibers, and can integrate passive components like splitters for PON architectures .
