How to configure Huijue optical modules

To set up a Huijue optical module, carefully install it into the optical port, ensure proper orientation, and configure the port speed and mode on the switch.

Physical Installation

1. Wear an antistatic strap to prevent static damage to the module and switch components .
2. Remove the dust plug from the optical port and keep it for future use .
3. Orient the module correctly: the gold fingers should face down, and the module should align with the port without forcing it .
4. Insert the module gently into the optical port until you hear a click, indicating it is securely seated .
5. Connect the fiber by aligning the optical connector with the module and gently inserting it. To remove, press the clip on the connector and pull it out .
6. Use optical attenuators if the transmit/receive power is too high to prevent damage to the module .

Port Configuration

1. Check the default port speed: Huijue QSFP+ ports are typically 40GE by default. Some models allow upgrading to 100GE with a license .
2. Assign the port type using commands such as assign port-type 100ge and restart the switch if upgrading the speed .
3. Enable or disable auto-negotiation depending on your network requirements. For non-auto-negotiation mode, use undo negotiation auto and manually set the speed and duplex .
4. Verify the module using commands like display transceiver to view parameters such as wavelength, transmission distance, and fiber type .
