General Guidelines

  1. Select the Appropriate Bracket Type Common bracket types include trapeze (swing) supports, center-hung supports, and wall-mounted brackets. The choice depends on the installation environment, tray type, and load requirements. Trapeze supports are widely used for ceiling installations, while center-hung supports allow easier cable placement from both sides .
  2. Determine Support Spacing Proper spacing is critical to prevent sagging. Typical support spacing ranges from 1.5 to 3 meters, depending on tray type, material, and cable load. Maximum load per hanger is usually between 318 kg (700 lbs) and 340 kg (750 lbs) .
  3. Prepare the Mounting Structure
    • For trapeze supports, thread a hex nut 25–50 mm above the tray bottom on the all-thread rod.
    • Slide on square washers and attach the cross member. Ensure vertical hangers pass through the cross member.
    • Drill or punch holes slightly larger than the all-thread diameter (1/16"–1/8") to allow easy adjustment .
  4. Install the Cross Member and Tray Clips
    • Thread a second set of hex nuts to position the cross member snugly under the tray.
    • Ensure the cross member is level and allows horizontal adjustment for tray clips.
    • Tray clips (e.g., CG*-1) can be installed inside or outside the tray, depending on space and interference with rungs or connectors .
  5. Align and Secure the Tray
    • Align trays straight and level.
    • Use connectors and fittings to join tray sections securely.
    • For long runs, consider using cable tray rollers to lay cables smoothly and avoid kinks .
  6. Final Checks
    • Verify all clamps and brackets are tight.
    • Check for misalignment, overfilled sections, or unsupported spans.
    • Ensure grounding and bonding are properly installed for metal trays to maintain electrical safety .

  • Load and Material: Choose brackets compatible with the tray material (steel, aluminum, or stainless steel) and environmental conditions to prevent corrosion or mechanical failure .
