How to connect the power input to the distribution box

Connect the phase and neutral wires from the main power supply to the input of the main MCB, then distribute through RCCBs and load MCBs, ensuring proper earthing.

Step-by-Step Connection

1. Safety First Before starting, turn off the main power supply and verify with a voltage tester or multimeter that no current is present. Wear insulated gloves and safety goggles to prevent electric shock . 2. Identify Components

  • Main MCB (Double Pole): Controls overall power to the distribution box.
  • RCCB (Residual Current Circuit Breaker): Provides protection against leakage currents.
  • Single-Pole or Double-Pole MCBs: Protect individual circuits or loads.
  • Neutral and Earth Links: Central points for neutral and grounding connections . 3. Connect the Main Power Input
  • Connect the phase (live) and neutral wires from the incoming power supply to the input terminals of the main MCB .
  • Connect the output of the main MCB to the input of the RCCB. 4. Connect Load Circuits
  • For double-pole MCBs: Connect both phase and neutral from the RCCB output to the MCB input.
  • For single-pole MCBs: Connect only the phase wire from the RCCB output to the MCB input; connect the neutral to the neutral link.
  • Connect the earth wire from the supply or earth pit to the earth link . 5. Connect Individual Loads
  • For DP MCBs: Connect both phase and neutral terminals of the load to the MCB output, and the earth to the earth link.
  • For SP MCBs: Connect the phase terminal of the load to the MCB output, and neutral and earth to their respective links . 6. Cable Management
  • Route wires neatly, preferably with plastic ties, keeping input wiring on the left and output wiring on the right.

  • Connect inverter output to the distribution box following the same phase, neutral, and earth principles, using appropriately rated cables .
