Using the optical ports of Huijue switches

To enable a Huijue switch optical port, install the optical module, connect the fiber, and activate the interface using system commands.

Physical Installation of the Optical Module

1. Remove the dust plug from the optical port and keep it for future use to prevent contamination .
2. Orient the optical module correctly (gold fingers facing down or as specified) and gently insert it into the port until you hear a click .
3. Verify proper seating by gently pulling the module; if it does not come out, it is correctly installed .
4. Connect the fiber by aligning the optical connector with the port and inserting it gently. To remove, press the clip and pull the fiber out .
5. Use optical attenuators if the transmit/receive power is too high to prevent module damage .

Enabling the Optical Interface

1. Enter system view on the switch via CLI.
2. Access the interface view for the optical port you want to enable.
3. Enable the interface using the undo shutdown command. If the interface was previously disabled, this will activate it .
4. Optionally, switch the interface to Layer 3 mode if required by your network configuration (supported on certain Huijue/Huawei series), .
5. To verify the optical module status, use the command display transceiver to view parameters such as wavelength, transmission distance, and fiber type .
