Do optical splitters have model numbers How do I identify them
They are named by the number of inputs and outputs, so a splitter with one input and 2 outputs is a 1X2, and a PON splitter with one input and 32 outputs is a 1X32. The answer lies in one of the most important passive components in modern fiber networks-the optical splitter. An optical splitter enables a single optical signal to be distributed to multiple end users, making large-scale FTTH and GPON deployments economically viable. T PON standards such as GPON, XGS-PON and new 25 and 50G standards. The splitter has different splitting ratio which covers N:2 to N:64 (N=1, 2).
